I started my career as a professional wrestler in Dallas before moving into radio as a nationally syndicated talk show host covering sports and pop culture. My name is David Schley (the only sly things about me are the silent c, h, and e in my name). You can call me David, Dave, Sly, “Hey You”, or mortgage guy.
Before becoming a mortgage professional, I graduated from Temple University’s Beasley School of Law, where I learned that I did not want to be a lawyer. After graduation, I became a restaurant manager and continued the mediaton training I’d started at Temple.
As we welcomed our son into the world, I opened a mediation firm and became a stay-at-home dad until 2021 when we bought our first home, and I found my calling in mortgages. I joined Success Lending where I can offer all the programs and help many of the people I could not in the call center lender where I “cut my teeth.”
Listening skills learned as a mediator, research skills learned in law school, and customer service skills honed in food service have all proven valuable in the mortgage business but it is my genuine desire to help people that has allowed me to thrive regardless of the “rate environment.”
